This dessert, which is not american was actually invented in Britain at the The Hungry Monk Restaurant in East Sussex, by owner Nigel Mackenzie and his chef, Ian Dowding.


For a quick banoffee pie, you can use ready-made caramel (caramel tout prêt) and spray whipped cream (crème chantilly en bombe).
